Local Buses
One of the most popular modes of local transport in Puna comprises of the local buses. The buses are run by PMT and covert almost each and every part of the city. There are also two Pune Darshan buses that take you on a tour of the city, covering all the significant tourist destinations on the way. The tour starts around 9 am and comes to an end around 5 pm.

Auto Rickshaws
There are a large number of auto rickshaws plying on the roads of Pune city. One can also get prepaid rickshaws, at Shivajinagar, Swargate Bus Depot and Lohegaon Airport. If a prepaid auto is not available, always insist on going by the meter.

Suburban Rail
There are suburban rails connecting Pune with Lonavala, a popular tourist destination near Mumbai. The government is presently considering the feasibility of a second monorail line.

Taxis
One can find the typical yellow and black taxis as well as private taxis in Pune. However, hiring taxis is quite expensive and is recommended only if the group is quite large.
